Agropecuaria El Trébol: More Milk Thanks To AHV
Pedro Hernández, herd manager of Agropecuaria el Trébol in Chile, shares with us the remarkable changes and improvements they have experienced since they decided to invest in AHV solutions in December 2022.

About Agropecuaria el Trébol
With a herd of 450 cows, and an average production of 24.5 litres. Pedro highlights the most significant impact from his perspective: animal welfare. Traditional methods required prolonged daily injections for the treatment of udder health challenges. AHV has provided a revolutionary alternative, where they simply pick the animal, apply the boluses and return it to its herd, observing its progress. Pedro emphasises the peace of mind this technique gives them, eliminating the need to throw away milk and avoiding the risk of inhibitors.
Agropecuaria el Trébol’s willingness to innovate and try new products, especially those of natural origin, led to the discovery of AHV. Pedro says that leaving the use of traditional methods for udder health problems was a challenge, but they were determined to look for more natural techniques, moving towards an approach that keeps the animal healthy with less need for traditional products such as antibiotics and increasingly natural production systems.

The support of Eduardo, AHV Farm Advisor, is the key to success.
In addition to animal welfare, Pedro says: “What I value most is the commitment they have towards us farmers, the constancy in supporting our employees in the optimal use of the products to obtain satisfactory results.” He highlights the perseverance of the company to face a field where traditional methods were the only method of combat, underlining also the human quality of the team.
Pedro Hernandez, after his first contact with AHV, was looking for technical assistance, use and administration of the products. The AHV Farm Advisor, Eduardo Garcia, committed himself to a monthly technical follow-up, establishing a strong and meaningful communication between the advisor and the client. Positive results started to become evident, and the milkers showed a strong preference for the AHV way of working, abandoning the use of conventional methods altogether. The farm has now gone one full year without!
One of the first farms with AHV in Chile
Since December 2022, the farm has been using the AHV Udder Health programme on a monthly basis, which includes Extra Tablet, Quick Tablet and Aspi Tablet. Extra Tablet works as a support in recovery periods, helping the udder to recover in general; Quick Tablet, acts as a quick immune system support in case of health challenges and Aspi Tablet promotes the animal’s well-being.
Agropecuaria El Trebol was one of the first farms to start working with AHV in Chile, and has been an example for other farms to follow. In December 2023, AHV CEO Jan de Rooy had the honour of visiting the farm in Chile, where the results were discussed, and future plans were outlined. The collaboration between Agropecuaria el Trébol and AHV continues to flourish, marking a milestone in the pursuit of sustainable and effective farming practices.
