AHV InSight provides essential data to ensure optimal animal health

Our mission at AHV is to empower agriculture to safeguard animal health by tackling health challenges at the earliest possible stage in close collaboration with farmers, using farm data and resources.  To execute our mission properly, sufficient and accurate data is essential. That’s why we need AHV InSight!

AHV InSight is the division of AHV International specialized in data, since we believe data is the new coin to get an in-depth understanding of animal health, welfare and everything regarding the animal, 360 degrees around. All of this, because we want to provide a data-driven and a better service level to our customers, in order to provide the best advice on how to use our product.

We understand that it is important for farmers to be able to indicate not only the symptoms and reason for treatment, but also the short-term and long-term results. We try to use our tools to make the effects and results as transparent as possible for our customers. This to better manage healthier animals that ultimately live longer and are therefore more profitable.

Collecting Animal-related data

AHV use the software provided by its partner FarmTrace to connect only necessary tools on the farmer’s PC and collect Animal-related data (production, fertility, movements) coming from the Farm Management System. We have no connection or ability to see financial results, only animal results. Besides, AHV interacts and collaborates with the local Milk Recording Organizations by collecting the MPRs (Milk Production Recordings).

AHV InSight uses the information coming from these systems and uses modern technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning Models (ML) to check the data, identify patterns and develop algorithms in order to provide the best treatments advice to our customer.

How does AHV InSight support our farmers

By developing algorithms based on data from different systems, seasons, countries and dairy systems, we can create insight in the health status of cows which is followed by AHV InSight. AHV Insight will identify cows which have a higher risk of developing a health issue.

Due to the early identification of health issues, AHV can give a farmer a notification to support their cows instantly with our programs. This will reduce the incidence of health issues, which will lead to better production levels and lower cost for health issues.

For example, during the dry off period we can predict if a cow will develop ketosis in the next lactation based on the previous milk recordings. By highlighting these cows during the dry off period, we can support the cows with the AHV Booster Tablet during the dry off period to her energy balance post calving.

AHV InSight Portfolio

The structure of our portfolio is reported in the figure below:

• The Light version represents the basic offer and is led by our Consultant Analysis (CA) report, made out from milk recordings. The milk recordings are released every month (or with a different frequency according to the country), and report all the info related to the cows such as: milk production, milk quality parameters, cow health status, etc.

The light version is developed to highlight cows, which need additional support. This additional support is focusing on cows which develop the risk of health issues regarding udder health and energy.

• The Standard AHV app is a data tool alongside the CA analysis where the Farm Advisor is able to record treatments and follow the performance of the herd.

The standard AHV app gives the Farm Advisor additional support to track the results after a treatment. Which makes it easier to visualize how animal health compares before and after the AHV treatments.

• The Premium AHV App is developed to support the farmers from a herd perspective. This app has more functionalities like a daily connection to milking robots, traditional medicine usage, production and reproduction data.

The premium AHV app is focusing on the proactive support of the entire herd. The Premium app shows insight on a herd level to support the farmer to improve his/her herd health. The HHP InSight module is one of the modules inside the premium app, which supports our HHP specialists to analyse complete herds.
