Empowering New Zealand dairy farmers through innovation in animal health
AHV International introduces QS Solutions to New Zealand with latest expansion
Waikato, New Zealand — AHV International (AHV), the international leading developer of quorum sensing (QS) powered animal health solutions in the form of feed supplements, using AHV’s patented QSA Technology, announce its expansion to New Zealand. With its 21st branch opening in Hamilton, Waikato, AHV continues to give substance to its mission to help farmers worldwide, with availability for New Zealand farmers from February, 2022.
Heading the new office for AHV New Zealand is Mrs. Janneke van Wagtendonk. Her professional career spans over 30 years of experience in the agriculture and dairy sector. Prior to joining AHV as the Managing Director for New Zealand/Oceania, she worked in different senior roles across R&D/Innovation, Technical and Farm Operations and Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory for CRV, Livestock Improvement, Fonterra and Cargill in the Netherlands, New Zealand, China and APAC.
Janneke states: “I am grateful for the opportunity to come home to New Zealand to represent and lead a new division for an amazing company that shows incredible ambition and growth, with innovative feed supplements and services. New Zealand dairy farmers are experts in turning grass into milk, and to partner with them to optimize their animal health, productivity and profitability is a privilege.”
AHV introduces its full-service concept to New Zealand, built to properly guide and support dairy farmers in their transition to its innovative solutions, which are developed with the science of quorum sensing (QS). These solutions focus on the biochemical communication between selected bacteria (i.e., quorum sensing). By inactivating their QS, we can eradicate biofilms, and the immune system of the animals is supported in a natural and effective way.
Janneke continues: “Here in New Zealand we are excited to work together with farmers and offering our products and services the ‘Quorum Sensing way’. We believe that with our support and methods, we can equip our customers to be premium food suppliers with a strong focus on animal health, food safety and quality and sustainability, in addition to profitability and performance. Collaboration and transparent communication are vital to our sustainable growth, resulting in genuine relationships and win-win alliances.”

Animal Health Vision
AHV International was founded in 2014 by a team of Dutch veterinarians and researchers. Its mission is to empower farmers worldwide through innovation in animal health, applied in sustainable solutions and value-added advisory service. This way, the farming community is supported to take (proactive) control over their animal health and business results, and to improve the efficiency, social welfare, and environmental management of their farms.
The AHV portfolios include key solutions in the form of mainly feed supplements that support uterine health and udder health for optimal fertility, production, and longevity. As AHV work from the animal’s life cycle, they also offer solutions for optimal calving and transition, energy and digestive management, calf rearing and young stock health, among others.”
Working together like bacteria
“With our expansion to New Zealand, we feel it is first and foremost a recognition to our farmers worldwide with whom we have been working to optimise animal health. Their trust, involvement and input both drive and enable us to continuously provide our growing community with new innovations, to tackle any challenge that may arise on-farm together,” says Jan de Rooy, CEO of AHV International. “Our goal is to make the complexity of biotechnology applicable to the agriculture industry, and as simple as possible to understand and use. Usability and efficacy are key as we believe in making our technology accessible for the farming community, so that we as a sector can set a new standard for animal health and animal health care using quorum sensing; the status quo-rum. It is all about working together as a high-quality industry, with communication and innovation as our pillars, like how bacteria work together.”
