What AHV Metri Paste delivers to your farm
AHV Metri Paste is a complementary feed paste for sows showing signs of discomfort in the first week after farrowing. Delivered orally with a unique applicator, it avoids injections and is both simple and welfare friendly.
By providing fast-absorbing energy, bioactive compounds and dicalcium phosphate, Metri Paste supports sow activity, appetite, oxytocin release, milk let-down and the immune system.

How to use METRI PASTE?
- Administer AHV Metri Paste orally using the AHV Sow Paste Applicator.
- Gently place the applicator into the side of the sow’s mouth.
- Squeeze three times (equivalent to 70–80 grams) to deliver the paste directly.
- Application can be repeated for up to three consecutive days if needed.
When to USE METRI PASTE?
AHV Metri Paste is a complementary feed for sows showing signs of discomfort in the first week after farrowing, it should not be applied herd wide. Metri Paste is part of the Transition program.

On-farm trials demonstrated that Metri Paste makes a real difference during the critical first week after farrowing. By supporting appetite, recovery, and milk let-down, it helps sows get back on track faster and contributed to the reduced need of medical interventions.
Trial highlights:
- Faster recovery: 94% of sows regained full feed intake within 48 hours when given Metri Paste, compared to 66% without.
- Fewer applications: More than half of the sows required only one application, reducing labour and costs.
- Reduced medication use: Farms using Metri Paste saw up to 85% fewer antibiotic treatments and 78% fewer NSAID treatments.
- Earlier support: Sows received support on average 1.7 days earlier, helping to reduce the severity of challenges before they escalated.
