UDDER HEALTH
Udder health is of utmost importance in a good functioning dairy farm. Maintaining udder health is essential to optimal milk production and longevity in the herd. A cow with the first symptoms of mastitis is not feeling and performing well and requires attention from the dairy farmer. To keep your cows’ udders as healthy as possible, it is important to monitor the animal, preferably using (milk) data that provides additional insight allowing you to adjust and adapt when needed. The longer the udder remains healthy, the more you and your dairy cattle will benefit.
The AHV Udder Health Program supports your animal’s natural resistance for production, longevity, and development of the herd. This leads to fewer financial losses, improved well-being of your cow, and improved labor convenience and profitability for the dairy farm.
How we work
Each program within AHV Cows & Calves is based on a predefined approach. The Udder Health program consists of 4 levels of support for keeping the udder clean. Together with your AHV Specialist you can assess herd health based on analysis of milk records, robot data, and farm goals.
Benefits

Technology
AHV offers an Udder Health Program with products and solutions that contain the patent pending AHV QSA Technology. The blend of components is developed to facilitate the immune system and to support improvement of the health status of the udder and quality of the milk. Products and solutions in all AHV programs are animal friendly and easy to administer or apply.

Animal health
With increasing milk production, the cow’s health is challenged during all stages of lactation. Udder health requires continuous monitoring and support. Healthy cows remain in good production where no intervention is needed, avoiding stressful situations. This is beneficial for the animal’s wellbeing, production quantity and quality, and ultimately, impacting longevity and number of lactations.

Financial
Animals that are healthy, produce more optimally and require less intervention. For the dairy farmer, this means a higher and better-quality milk yield, and an overall healthier herd with higher production numbers over time. This can be reflected economically in increased milk revenues or by premiumization programs from dairy processors that reward milk constituents and hygiene.
